We are the backbone of Maine’s economy, and we help provide a political voice for Maine’s small business community. We believe that good economic policy works both for small business owners and the customers they serve.
Across the country today, business owners displayed signs at their stores to show their opposition to the increasingly hateful and violent rhetoric from national political leaders.
Main Street Alliance (MSA), a national organization committed to providing a voice for small business owners, today released the results of a survey of over 1,000 small business owners on varied public policy issues.
A group of small business owners represented by the Maine Small Business Coalition reiterated their support for Question 1 on this November's ballot. Question 1 would require more disclosure of outside spending in candidate elections; increase penalties for breaking campaign finance laws; and fully fund the state's Clean Elections law.

Members of the Maine Small Business Coalition (MSBC) said Question 1 would elevate the voice of small businesses and everyday Mainers in the political process by increasing transparency in elections and limiting the influence that wealthy special interests and large corporations have on politicians.
